“When there’s no more room in hell…”

My house at University was like a sweat shop in the weeks leading up to Halloween. My friends and I would spend hours sewing, sticking, cutting, practising make up techniques, carving pumpkins, making themed cocktails and covering the house in cobwebs.

For a lot of girls, “Halloween is the one night of the year when you can dress up like a total slut and no one can say anything about it.” (Thanks Mean Girls) but I prefer the blood, the guts and the gore. It’s much more satisfying to make an original outfit than buy some sexy costume that you’re guaranteed to see other people wearing; keep the money you’d spend on some generically hideous costume from Ann Summers and get creative! Over the last few years, I’ve been a Battle Royale victim, a porcelain doll, a beaten to death 1950s housewife and a zombie nurse (complete with zombie patient) to name but a few.

This year we’re having a haunted house party with parlour games, scary music, and of course, some serious fancy dress. I’m already looking at all that the 99p store has to offer! I still have to decide on this years costume…do you have any ideas?
